Yamba, NSW – A Great Australian Holiday Destination

If you are looking for a vacation spot that offers just about everything you have always wanted to do in your holiday, look no further than the beautiful town of Yamba. Located by the mouth of the largest river in east coast Australia, the Clarence River, Yamba is a popular tourist town in Northern New South Wales. It is very near other well known holiday tows like Grafton, Lismore, and Ballina. It is three hours away from Brisbane, a two-hour flight from Sydney, and a two-hour drive from the Gold Coast.

One of the most significant claim-to-fame of Yamba is its climate. Australia’s national science agency, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation or CSIRO and the Stanford University has identified the town for having one of the best climates in the world. In 2009, Yamba was named the best town in Australia by the periodical “Australian Traveller Magazine.” All these recognition has resulted to more visitors all year round, especially during summer, the Easter holiday and other long holiday weekends, even during the Christmas Season.

Being transformed into a tourist town has given rise to a number of great options for accommodation in Yamba. Apart from the resort hotels by the beach or the river, there are affordable motels like the Yamba Sun, offering a high quality of stay for visitors the year over. Part of the many offerings of these accommodations are the package tours around the town as there are just so many things to see and do in this quaint holiday spot.
Yamba is bordered by the Pacific Ocean, Clarence River, a number of national parks like the Yuraygir, and tracts of lush rural land. It is home to the Yaegl aborigines who have taken care of the coastal areas surrounding Yamba, Maclean and Iluka. Many visitors come to the Yaegl Nature Preserve via Yamba’s Angourie rainforest in the south to explore this habitat for endangered fauna and flora.

Visitors have many other reasons to visit Yamba apart from the river, the beach, and the national parks. Yamba also offers sports and recreation including golf courses, bowling greens, plus a deep-water marina. People can dine at world class restaurants or sit in cafes as they watch the town around them. There are also plenty of boutique shops selling international brands as well as local souvenirs.
